Community Outreach ServicesThese services provide educational outreach to our community to foster greater awareness and understanding of autism as well as the challenges faced by fellow residents living with this disorder. These services are critical in creating a supportive community and strong partnerships with community organizations. Autism 101 for Childcare professionals*This training provides childcare professionals with a basic understanding of autism, it’s impact on the family, interventions to support a child in the daycare environment, their role in the referral of Children to early intervention and educational services, and community resources for providers and the families they serve.
Prince Georges County Special Needs Identification Physician Support Program (PGCSNIPS)*This is a collaborative program with the Prince Georges County Infants and Toddlers Program, with in-kind supports from Pathfinder for Autism, the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and supplemental funding from the Maryland Consortium of Care. The purpose of this program is to train and support pediatric physicians in the implementation of standardized developmental screening and to increase the identification of children with special healthcare needs in Prince Georges County, Maryland.
