Individual SupportThese services directly empower children, adolescents, and eventually adults living with autism by providing multi-disciplinary therapeutic interventions that are individualized and evaluated for effectiveness. Autism Screening and Diagnostic ProgramThis future program provides autism screening by a general pediatrician with a special interest in autism and children with related special health- care needs, early intervention referrals, and diagnostic evaluations by Kennedy Kreiger through a collaboration with The Prince Georges County Infants and Toddlers Program, Prince Georges County Child Find, and facilitated by CHADIS (Child Health and Development Interactive System) a web-based screening, diagnostic and management system that administers and analyzes pre-visit, online questionnaires completed by parents.ASD Medical Management ProgramThis future program provides a comprehensive evaluation of a child or youth with ASD consisting of a review of their general medical history, review of systems, nutritional assessment, Developmental history, behavioral assessment, educational placement, and an assessment of family history and support. Once this evaluation is concluded, a summary of recommendations is discussed with the family and an Autism Action Plan (AAP) is created in partnership with the family. This plan is re-evaluated and/or revised every 3-6 months to ensure its effectiveness for the child and family. This service is also rendered by a general pediatrician with a special interest in autism and children with related special health- care needs. |
